Doing Our Bit

Supporting Epilepsy Action
On 26th March, otherwise known as 'Purple Day', I wrote a blog very close to my heart. I told my story of life as an epileptic. Purple Day is National Epilepsy Day, a day that raises awareness and sheds a little more light on this condition which easily misunderstood. However now it's time to do my bit in the only way I know how! Through my Cows. It's time for Ronnie to take the spotlight.
After sharing my story I was inundated with emails and messages from Lauren's Cows followers sharing their stories of life with epilepsy whether it be their own or that of family, along with others who just wanted to thank me for helping them understand what epilepsy is and removing some of the stigma surrounding it.
Some of these stories really touched me and I realised that I wanted to support Epilepsy not one day of the year but continuously. To make every day Purple Day. Then I had an idea....
NICE WEATHER FOR DUCKS
In 2015 Lauren's Cows joined with the Rural Agricultural Benevolent Institute to raise money for the flooded farmers of the Somerset levels. I was determined to do something to get these farmers, some of who had lost everything back on their feet. That's when I designed Nice Weather For Ducks! A donation from every sale of my new welly wearing cow prints and cards went straight to the RABI to contribute to the amazing work they were doing. Over the years we have raised ....................
So why not do this again? Raising money through artwork is a fantastic way to support a cause. I love creating artwork that make people smile and now you can provide much needed financial aid to a charity. Who better to raise money for Purple Day than the beautiful Ronnie with her bold violet background! Epilepsy Action were very enthusiastic when I approached them with my idea. Their charity could not carry out the fantastic work they do assisting those affected by this life altering condition. Any donations collected are highly valued and whats more they adored the cows!
Ronnie is the vivacious blonde of the Lauren's Cows herd. With her whimsical expression she always catches people's eye and she seemed the perfect little lady to join me on my mission. Ronnie never fails to bring a smile no matter how hard your day has been making her the woman for the job! From now on a donation from every Ronnie print sold will be donated to Epilepsy Action. I am thrilled to be able to help a cause that is so close to my heart and incredibly grateful to all of you who buy a Ronnie print of your own.
If you'd like to raise money for Epilepsy Action your own way either by a one off donation or hosting a fundraiser event take a look at their 'Support Our Work' page here.
