Melody's Story 
 
In September I had the pleasure of visiting a local Jersey Farm in York and spending an afternoon with a lovely herd of milking Jerseys. Since my trip one of Greyleys Jersey Cows has made it into the Lauren's Cows herd, with many more to join in due course. 
As you know, I love to know all about the cows I paint and who knows them better than the people who take care of the cattle every day. So without further ado, here is Melody's Story!

Dites bonjour à Ivory, la Vache Charolaise! 
 
From now on I'll drop my terrible French and stick to English! But please say hello to Ivory the Charolais Cow. She's new to the herd and exceptionally beautiful. This is my first ever Charolais, Ivory and I love her. She has the most beautiful face and looks so gentle and endearing that you just want to reach into the painting and stroke her. I feel like I’ve known her all my life, but I know very little about the breed itself.

Wonderful world of Cattle! The Belty

The Belted Galloway 
There's a new kid in town, he's black, he's white he's...striped?  
There are certain breeds out there that we don't get to see on a daily basis- unless you're very lucky that is. The Belted Galloway is one of these rarer breeds. However, I'm very excited to introduce the latest kid on the block, Dexter, who happens to be a Belted Galloway Calf. To mark this event I thought it would be nice if we all learned a bit more about our strikingly striped, monochrome friends! So what is it about the Belted Galloway that we all love so much?
