I am thrilled to finally have a Charolais cow join the Lauren's Cows herd! I am constantly asked for certain breeds of cattle and the Charolais has to be one of the most requested, so it gives me great joy to welcome Ivory to our gallery.
One colour, smooth coats are always a challenge for me, and when that colour is white then it's a whole new ball game altogether. However I am thrilled how this painting has turned out.
This painting is maybe the most interactive of my herd. I'm not sure that's the right term but I will explain what I mean. The original painting stretching to the edge of the frame acts almost like a window that Ivory is peering through. The angle of her chin and shadow beneath really gives the impression that she is poking her head through the frame to say hello. Whats more the expression on her face, and alertness of her ears make her appear like she's attentively listening to your conversations.
Full of colour she's an asset to any room and wonderfully modern painting of a very classical subject.
