This piece holds special meaning for me, as it is a tribute to my dad, who celebrated his 70th birthday in December. My dad has always had a deep love for the outdoors and a great respect for nature. However, this artwork was inspired by his long hours spent rebuilding a section of the dry stone wall on our family farm in Ravenscar, Yorkshire, which had tumbled down. Despite having no previous experience, my dad took on the task with unrelenting determination. For an entire summer, he worked tirelessly on different sections of the wall, selecting each stone with painstaking perfectionism.

The idea of a friendly cow greeting him every day as he set out his tools made me smile endlessly. At first, the nosey beast was a nuisance—just an annoyance to grumble at. The inquisitive animal poking her head through the very hole dad is trying to fix! But, as time passed, the cow and the waller became unlikely companions. In the end, they shared a quiet, mutual understanding, exchanging stories amidst the peaceful Yorkshire countryside.

The wall itself stands as a testament to both hard work and the love we have for the land that has been in our family for generations. “Me Again” is not just a depiction of farm life; it’s a personal celebration of my dad’s legacy and my Yorkshire roots. It’s a tribute to love, family, and tradition.
